Okay, it's January and being stuck indoors is getting depressing.  Does anyone have plans for their bikes over the winter?

Since my budget is cut waaaay back this year, I'll be mastering the art of tire-changing.  Will also be tearing the bike down to change the belts and check the valves.  Oh yeah, I guess I'll have to change the oil too  Grin

Yeah, bike budgets are down for most of us this year I think.  Selling the truck just to support the habit...KTM needs a good bit of parts thrown at it to just make it rideable again, and I don't know if I can swing much more.

I told myself that I'll start tearing the bike down in feb., so the projects are about to begin!

BTW, I'll bring the beer ;-)

I don't have any projects for the bike - but I am willing to help you guys out.  I'll bring my tire-changing instructions, and an extra car rim (if you're not buying that tire-changer from harbor freight).  Although, I do need to make suspension adjustments to my bike - and will need help with that... but we can do that at the track.  I will build the little tire stands we'll need to balance the tires.

I started to make a front stand from old 2x4's (since I'm too cheap to buy a real one), but you just gave me the idea that the same stand could probably be used as a balancer.  I'll be sure to take a picture of the finished product.... should be very amusing.

Another project I forgot about was to hardwire all my camera crap to the bike.  I have a couple 9v regulators laying around and it would be much nicer not having to worry about batteries every time we go out.

I know, I know, hanging the bike from the rafters is far more elegant!

nothing wrong with hanging a bike from rafters, mine will be hanging again soon

Hopefully I will have all new skins for this year...I may have to put some advertising on it.

Going to ditch the F4i shock that I used last season, and install the NOS rear shock that I picked up.  I think I will like riding at the propert ride height again.

Although to screw that up I'm using a taller front tire this season (only size I could get in this rubber)  So I will be messing with my front height this season.

the bars on my '93 CBR would wobble coming out of turn 8 - so I would recommend a steering damper.  Especially if you plan on dropping the front lower than the factory setting.
