Hey everyone,

I just signed up for my first track days at Mid-O 25-26 Apr so I started looking around for track day advice and came upon this site.  I just can't wait to get on the track and start having some real fun on my bike!  Thanks for reading...

Mid-O is AWESOME!  This is your first time on the track?

The best advice I could give is to relax and have fun.  Sportbiketracktime has a great beginner group.  You won't have to do much to your bike - just tape up the plastic lenses and remove/disconnect any lights if possible.  Also, make sure your tires and safety gear are in good shape.  I think there's a list of requirements on the SBTT website.

Other than that, bring lots of water, some snacks and an open mind... you'll have a blast.

Mid-O is a fantastic track.  The extreme elevation changes in the back section will slow you down at first, because you can't see which way the track turns next.  For that reason, I think it's very important that you study videos and the track map as much as possible so that you have the track memorized before you get there.
Although - as Ian said - SBTT is a great group of people, and they will help you out, and help straighten out that learning curve.

(also, you might want to make sure you replace your antifreeze with water, or water wetter, or "blue ice/engine ice"... I'm not sure if that's a rule for the beginner group - so you might want to check that out)
