Just checked out the new Nelson Ledges track map (click here)
Wow, is that neat.  There's a synchronized video with a car icon on the track map - pretty cool.  An awesome learning tool.

I heard Nelson's compared to a plowed cornfield in relation to surface. Is this true or has it been repaved recently?

I've never been there, but I also heard it was bad.
But, that's soon to change...
I've also heard that Nelson Ledges got bought out by a 3rd party, and they are bouldozing the place, and reconstructing everything from scratch!  (not sure if this is true, and if so - not sure when the new track will be complete).

Check out the [tracks] section of this site (from the menu at the left) - there's a great map of the world so you can pick where in the world you want to ride, and all tracks have links to videos.

That would be awesome if they rebuilt Nelson.  I've never been their either because people complain about it being so bumpy.
Those I've talked to who do like it say it's a fun track as long as you've got your suspension setup.
