Back in the day (many years ago) when I got my motorcycle permit, we simply paid our $7 and got our permit.
These days, it's $10 and you have to take a knowledge test - which I think is a great idea - since most people that haven't ridden don't know how to stop a bike, and don't know how to turn a bike.
Unfortunately, not all questions on the test appear to help the rider become any better by knowing the answers.
Although - my favorite is the 1st... "if most acciendents occur under 30mph, what should you do?"... statistically speaking... ride over 30mph, and you'll be fine!  lol...
Click here for the full sample test
I only got a 72%... (heaven forbid my passenger EVER speak to me!!!)  Let us know what you get...

I got a 76%... some of those questions are really bad.

"Use both brakes to slow down", "Put your feet down in bad weather"? I think the DMV assumes we're all riding bikes built in 1970.

I have had a license since1991.  I guess that is why I scored a whopping 80%.
