Found a real neat race game that you can play (both off line and on line).
This game is FREE!
(click here for BMW M3 Challenge)
The download is a bit large (346mb), but well worth it.
On my PC, there was a lot of lag, so I had to change the options to the lowest resolution - but the graphics are still great.
Also found that you may need to open some ports on your router if you are going to host a game... and you might need to set a password when hosting a game.
This should hold you over until your first track day of the year!

Just found a site that lists addon tracks for the M3 Challenge:
(click here for NoGripRacing Forum for M3 thread)

That forum lists a location where you can download 124 different tracks!

They even have VIR, Mid-Ohio, and Pocono!
(Sorry, no BeaveRun - yet)

Just last week I discovered a nifty virtual track creator named: "Bobs Track Builder".  This CAD program will actually import GPS data, and build an incredibly accurate virtual track that can be used in rFactor.
Since we have been using a GPS data logger as our lap timer for the past year at Nelson Ledges, BeaveRun North Track, and BeaveRun Kart Track - I figured I'd give it a shot.
The tracks turned out incredibly realistic.
The only downside is that I'm not real good at adding all the extra features (like guard rails and trees, etc.) to make the entire track feel as if you are there.
But - the track length, turns, and elevation changes are all incredibly realistic.

Feel free to download any of these tracks for use in the rFactor game.
(note: you can also purchase rFactor, and download it from the Internet.  It's a 1 GB download).

If you have any comments or suggestions on the rFactor tracks - please feel free to post any comments.
