Just had my "cast aluminum" (not sure if that's what it really is) fairing bracket welded by:
Beatty Welding Company
3406 Babcock Boulevard
Pittsburgh, PA 15237
412-364-0691
(by Ross Park Mall)
He does an awesome job, and for an awesome price.
anywhere from $10 to $20 to weld your fairing bracket... much better than $175 for a new bracket!
(just make sure you call first to setup an appointment, and keep in mind that you will need to drop off your part)

man, i think these brackets are made from peanut brittle, mid-ohio just claimed half of our daytona.  I'm debating whether I want to worry about keeping the fairing on the bike or not.  If I do, I'm going to need the fairing bracket welded back as well.

I've heard that "Glu-Wire" can fix fairing brackets.  Question is - how cheap are you?  Wink

The glue-wire would match the bondo head-lights  2funny
(Those fairing brackets do break away much too easily - I've gone thru 2 already. Hopefully they're stronger after they're welded... unfortunately - I bought a 2nd bracket before welding the first... after the 2nd time, I said f@#$ this, and got them both welded... so at least I have a spare to take to the track)

My thoughts on how to avoid costly motorcycle repairs:

1) Buy a Jap bike
2) Stop crashing!  Cheesy

Well I got Tom's spare bracket, and I'll try to see if I can get the fairing fixed good enough to keep on the bike...

Tom, I forgot to call you back, but your bracket was in the shop's trailer...I'll get it back to you soon. Smiley

Glad to hear you found it - I was going crazy looking thru the garage and the basement trying to find it!

On a side note - a bunch of guys went to watch the WERA race on Sat.  It's worth it to go - if for anything - to see the battle between Scott and Aaron - very exciting.  And, Cody got his license... makes me want to get one, too!
