what else can I do...

...to go faster?
Other than tweaking the bike setup and other expensive mods, it seems like I'm at a plateau at any improvement on my lap times. I feel my form is good, maybe not perfect, but at least very consistent. I take good lines and turn-in points, and the last few times out on the track I've only really dropped my lap times working on later braking points...which does make it harder to judge entry speed...takes good judgment not to slow down too much.
Where I see trouble is getting the bike around the corner; Just where I feel I'm at the limit (knee coming in closer and closer to the bike with more lean angle and peg touching down), I get a guy coming by me on the outside barely at the max lean angle. I know a race prepped bike with proper suspension and rearsets will spare me some lean angle, a stock bike can only go so far, but I know that a good road racer on the same bike as me I'm sure will have much lower times and simply just make it around the track easier than I am.
What sticks in my mind now is a chapter in twist of the wrist, about being a leaner or being a flicker. Meaning, the quicker you pitch the bike in, the less lean angle you use. Next track day I'm definetly going to try to put myself to the test...reading the book, this usually means picking a later entry point, and flicking the bike in a lot quicker, meaning a bit more effort into the bars, right? Opinions?
What other points, make that weak points do you guys find yourselves fighting?

I agree with you, go in deep, and flick it faster... allows you to come out harder. (sounds like a rated X movie!). I can't do that because I don't have that level of trust in my tires. But, I can tell you that you look damn good. I was only able to get 50 seconds of video of you before you got bored with my slow speed...

after looking at the video again - I must say, you really do look great. Makes me feel bad about my form. I seem to be bent over too much in the turns. I need to figure out why I do that so I can correct it, and look more like Paul the Pro.

I think it does all come down to getting that bike turned faster. If you watch the video where Dave Y was following me:
at about time: 1:09, you see that his knee taps down, and boom - he's done with the hard part of the turn, and is already accellerating out.
Whereas with me... I was still leaned over too far to accelerate hard... hence, he almost rear-ends me.
I should have the Diablo Corsa 3's for the June track day... we'll see if I learned anything.

Hi Prodolf...
The biggest thing that improved my riding was by tagging onto a rider that was just that little bit faster than I am/was .
I noticed it a few years ago while competing in a 6 hour endurance event.
My qualifying time was respectable enough and put is about mid point on the grid. but checking the lap charts after the race i noticed a strange thing..
My lap times were all regularly within a few seconds of the rest of my times , yet there were several odd laps that were a lot faster..
Thinking back to the race I remembered following one of the lead bikes for a lap...
When I go back to that circuit now I am able to lap at the pace I managed for the odd laps. thats I realised was down to pushing my limits where I could to go faster by chasing someone.
obvioulsy a bit different between racing and trackdays, but still valid if you can find a rider just that little bit faster to chase around

back at the beaver again today, lap times are getting lower and comfort level's getting higher. Later in the day the groups were getting spread out and had more time to play while I was control riding in B and I, and built up some energy later on to go out in A (three sessions in a row, I'm beat) and have Aaron chase me around on his race bike, after 3 laps being slightly held back in a few sections, we had the clear and got some consistent 1:06's and 1:07's; much better than last trackday, where I was working hard and only got 1:07.88. Faster lap today was 1:06.15. I need to shave 1 second off and that will be a half-decent race pace.
